A la fin des années 70, alors que je voyageais, j’ai découvert avec horreur des statistiques sur la croissance de l’Eglise : 80 à 90 % des gens qui prennent une décision pour Christ s’éloignent de la foi. C’est l’évangélisation moderne avec ces méthodes qui crée ces 80 à 90 % (des gens qu’on appelle communément des rétrogrades).

Par exemple, pour que ce soit plus réel pour vous, en 1991, la première année de la décennie, Harvest, une dénomination majeure aux Etats Unis (avec plus de 11.500 églises) a pu obtenir 294.000 décisions pour Christ. Et ceci s’est fait en une année. Malheureusement, ils n’ont retrouvé que 14.000 personnes ayant intégré une église. Cela veut dire qu’ils n’ont pas pu rendre compte de 280.000 personnes ; ce sont des résultats communs de nos jours !
